What inspired your sticker design?
I gave much thought to what type of image might best suit a sticker for a Chiquita banana. After a while it became clear to me that a banana shares several traits with the sun. The vibrant yellow color, the fact that they are both a wonderful source of energy… and the warm healthy universal appeal. Everybody loves a warm sunny day and everybody loves a Chiquita banana. An image of a banana basking in the sun just seemed right and I am honored that you guys are considering it as a potential sticker in your Chiquita Banana Sticker Design Contest.
What's your favorite thing about Chiquita?
My favorite thing about Chiquita, aside from being the best banana available, is the personal nostalgia I have associated with the brand. I was born in 1952 and I can remember back in the early days of television there was a wonderful commercial of a cartoon Chiquita banana dancing and singing the Chiquita jingle. My childhood friends and I used to dance and sing the song often. During the past 50+ years many things have come and many things have gone but thank goodness the Chiquita banana is still with us… It may be a banana but it is as American as apple pie.
