The indisputable “First Lady of Fruit” celebrates her 65th birthday this year but is still the freshest girl around. Originally drawn by artist Dik Browne in 1944, Miss Chiquita first appeared as an animated banana to help teach us about the nutritional value of bananas and how to ripen them.
She was transformed into a woman in 1987 but held on to her famous jingle: “I'm Chiquita banana and I've come to say… bananas have to ripen in a certain way… when they are flecked with brown and have a golden hue… bananas taste the best and are best for you…”
Details of her birthday party were unknown as of press time, but we think it's safe to say, it should be bananas.
