Chiquita Organic Smoothie Contest

What could be a better way to celebrate National Organic Month than to have a contest?

Enter Chiquita’s Organic Smoothie Recipe Contest

We’re looking for the most creative organic smoothie recipes out there and we want to hear from you!

How to Enter

Leave a comment with your original recipe (be sure to include your email) for a smoothie that includes at least one organic fruit. It can be your take on a strawberry banana smoothie or something entirely new and different – it’s up to you! All you need to do is make sure you give it a title, ingredients list and instructions. Your recipe can be an original masterpiece or inspired by another (if this is the case, make sure to post the site where it came from). If your submission is based on a previously published recipe, it must have at least 2 ingredients that are different from the original. The EatAChiquita blog team will choose the top 15 recipe submissions based on creativity and ease of preparation.

Prizes

The top 15 recipes will each receive a prize package with 1 Chiquisafe banana protector and 1 Chiquita t-shirt so next time they’re making their smoothie recipe, they can get in the proper spirit and show off their Chiquita pride.

Going Bananas in the Tropics Smoothie

1 cup canned unsweetened coconut milk
1 cup cold vanilla soymilk
3 medium bananas
1/2 cup fresh or frozen raspberries
1/2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
1/4 cup pineapple juice
5 ice cubes
2 tablespoons honey

In a blender add coconut milk, soymilk, bananas, berries, pineapple juice, ice and honey then blend well.

Enjoy, its my favorite!

*forgot to mention, any fruit used in my recipe can be organic...the bananas, berries or even the honey.

Morning Kick

1 Large     Chiquita Banana
1 Cup        Organic Strawberries
¼ Cup       Raw Unsalted Almonds (Optional)
½ Cup       Organic Pineapple
1 Cups  Ice
¾ Cup of Organic Milk OR Organic Mango Juice
1 Standard Container Organic Natural Light Yogurt

Combine all ingredients in blender. Blend until ice is crushed thoroughly. Add extra Organic Milk OR Organic Mango Juice as needed until constancy is even. Pour and enjoy.

Banana Berry Blast

1-2 Frozen Chiquita Bananas
1 cup all natural Apple Juice
1 1/2 cups Lemonade
1 cup Frozen Raspberries
1 cup Frozen Raspberry Sherbet
1/2 cup Frozen Strawberries


Pour all liquid ingredients into blender, then add frozen ingredients.
Blend at mix setting for 30 seconds, then on smooth setting until smooth.
Makes 3-5 servings depending on glass size.

The Health Monster Smoothie - use frozen fruit except for the banana
1 Large Chiquita Banana
5 Large Organic strawberries
1/2 cup organic mango
1/2 cup organic blueberries
1/8 cup organic Acai berries (rehyrdated in organic apple, carrot or wheat grass juice for better flavor)
1 cup Organic Greek Yogurt fat free plain
1cup organic apple juice ( or more depending on how thick you want your smoothie - I like it thick enough to eat with a spoon :)) Cider also works for a "Fall" Monster!
1/4 tea spoon freshly ground organic flax seed
Blend until smooth - frozen fruit means no dilution with ice needed but if you want adding a few cubes is fine.
Now, with the Monster inside you - get ready to roar!!! This power packed drink will give you lots of energy!

Yummy yummy yum yum.... I love this contest!

PEACHY-BANANA TROPICAL PARADISE GREEN SMOOTHIE (vegan)

2   Frozen Chiquita Organic Bananas
2   Frozen Organic Peaches in segments(I love Okanagan Red Haven)
Liquid from 1 young Thai Coconut
Meat from 1 young Thai coconut
1 Healthy Handful of Cilantro Greens
Filtered Water to thin out if desired

Spin up in your high speed blender-- add the extra water if it is too thick.  Makes enough for 2 adult smoothie nuts or for 2 generous adults and their 2 children.

Vanana Peach Smoothie

1 Chiquita Organic banana
1 cup light coconut milk
1/2 cup organic vanilla yogurt
1/2 cup frozen peaches

Put all ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth. Add ice if necessary to thicken or additional light coconut milk to thin.

Bananarammaberry Smoothie

2 Chiquita bananas
1 cup cold organic soy milk
1 cup frozen organic raspberries
1 handful (about 1/2 cup) fresh mint (chopped)

Put all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth!

Monkey Nana Smoothie

2 Chiquita Bananas
1/2 cup organic all natural peanut butter
1 cup cold soy milk
1 teaspoon cocoa powder (you can also use carob powder)
5 ice cubes
2 tablespoons whipped cream

Blend bananas, peanut butter, soy milk, cocoa powder and ice cubes in blender until smooth.
Pour into tall glass and top with whipped cream!

Busy Mom's Organic Breakfast Smoothie
Ingredients:
2 frozen Chiquita organic bananas
2 scoops coffee ice cream (Fat Free can be used)
1 4oz. strawberry-flavored yogurt or vanilla yogurt
1/4 cup pulp-free orange juice
1/4 tsp. cinnamon (optional)
2Tbs. to 1/4 cup brewed coffee (optional)

Instructions:
Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth. A little chunky is fine. Pour into either 1 16oz. glass or 2 8oz. glasses/cups.
Note: using organic yogurt and juices are a plus!
Note: using frozen organic bananas equals no need for ice cubes!

Grapefruit Straw-Nana Organic Smoothie

Ingredients:
1 ripe Chiquita organic banana
1 pink grapefruit, pulp and juice
4 to 5 strawberries, tops removed
1/4 cup almond milk
1/4  teaspoon vanilla extract
2 teaspoons honey
5 or 6 ice cubes

Directions:
Add all ingredients to blender. Blend until smooth and frothy. Pour into either 1 16oz. glass or makes 2 8oz. glasses.

Nananog Smoothie

Ingredients:
2 ripe Chiquita organic bananas
1 1/2 cups almond milk
2 Tbls dry roasted unsalted almonds
2 tsp. organic sweetener
1-2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 cup ice

Directions:
Put all ingredients in a blender.  Pulse and blend until slightly blended, enjoying the crunch of the roasted almonds and the flavor of the rum.  It tastes the holiday all day, any day without the extra calories or hangover.  Makes about 24-28oz. Share now or freeze some for later. Yumm! Enjoy!

Banana Whole Grain Smoothie

1 envelope instant oatmeal
1 cup skim milk
1 large Chiquita organic banana, peeled and cut into chunks
1 cup frozen organic strawberries or organic mixed berries

Place all ingredients into a blender and process until smooth. Serve immediately.

Yucatan Mango Smoothie   

1 cup whole organic milk
2 cups diced organic mango
2 tablespoons coconut milk
1/3 cup plain organic yogurt
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
2 1/2 tablespoons organic agave syrup
Pinch finely chopped serrano pepper
3/4 cup crushed ice
1/4 cup sweetened shredded coconut, toasted

In a blender, combine milk, mango, coconut milk, yogurt, lime juice, agave syrup, serrano, and ice; puree.  Pour into 4 chilled margarita glasses (or highball glasses).  Sprinkle with toasted coconut.

Makes 4 servings.

Healthy chocolate banana smoothie

1 cup chilled unsweetened chocolate almond milk
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
1 organic Chiquita banana (frozen is yummy but not necessary)
1 tablespoon raw unsalted almond butter
A dash of cinnamon to taste
Add a little flax seed oil for your daily omega-3 boost, blend and enjoy!

"Cinnamon Roll Green Smoothie"

Put all ingredients into a blender and pulse until smooth.

1 bunch organic Spinach
1 teaspoon Agave
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
3 scoops Meal Replacement Powder, certified low-glycemic, vanilla flavor
1⁄2 Avocado
1⁄3 organic Chiquita Banana, frozen
2 Ice Cubes
1 cup Skim Milk

Banana & Apple Cobbler Smoothie
(like eating an apple pie, only through a straw also without the guilt)

Ingredients
1 cup vanilla, organic yogurt
1 fresh organic apple, cored and cut into pieces (granny smith works great)
1 Chiquita organic banana, peeled & cut in half
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
4-6 ice cubes

Instructions
Put all ingredients in blender and process until smooth. Serve immediately, sprinkling with extra cinnamon on top, if desired.

Pump-ana Smoothie

1 Chiquita banana, frozen and broken into chunks
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1/2 cup pure pureed canned pumpkin (not pie mix)
1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
natural sweetener of your choice, i.e. Stevia, honey or agave
4-6 ice cubes


Place all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth.  Enjoy!

Makes 1 serving.

Ban-nutty Smoothie

1 Chiquita banana, quartered
2 tablespoons freshly ground, organic peanut butter
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
natural sweetener of your choice, i.e. Stevia, honey or agave
4-6 ice cubes

Place all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth.  

Makes 1 serving.
