Fruit inspired fashion and fruit inspired art are two things we’re big fans of here at the EatAChiquita.com blog. You can imagine our excitement when we found a fruit inspired artist, Cathy Wu, who’s merged art and fashion by creating beautiful jewelry from real dried fruits.

Last week we interviewed legendary "Top Banana" Ken Bannister on how a roll of Chiquita stickers started what's become a lifetime passion, not to mention an International Banana Club bosting global membership and wholesome, healthy fun. By passing out Chiquita stickers at trade shows, Ken Bannister earned a reputation for loving bananas, and other banana fans responded by sending him banana-related items in exchange for "Banana Merits," the official score-keeping system of the International Banana Club.

This man knows bananas: it’s Ken “The Top Banana” Bannister, founder of the International Banana Club and Museum and lifetime Chiquita chomper (he eats one banana a day, every day). We read about his banana exploits and had to know more: Ken was kind enough to share his story and enthusiasm with Chiquita, and we're here to pass that on to you all, starting with this first post in a series on the International Banana Club, Museum, and activities.
