Angela's Busy Mom's Organic Banana Breakfast Smoothie Recipe

Would you like some banana with your coffee? If you’re Angela McClure (or anyone else who’s tried this organic banana smoothie recipe) than the answer is a resounding yes! Minus the scrambled eggs and crispy bacon, Angela’s winning fruit smoothie recipe has some of our favorite breakfast ingredients – fruit, yogurt, orange juice, coffee and a little cinnamon. This one’s sure to wake you up and keep you going until lunchtime. Blend away!

I love smoothies. The one reason why I've been constantly creating smoothies is my brother, about 5 months ago underwent surgery to remove part of his colon. Because of his surgery and me taking part in his recovery process, I learned more about smoothies and how nutritious something can truly be to someone who needs that extra amount of vitamins and protein. This is such a great way to incorporate healthy with something so fun and enjoyable. I love organic. Most of all, we eat a lot of bananas and mostly, Chiquita organic bananas. I'm so excited one of my smoothie recipes is a winner in the Chiquita Organic Smoothie Contest. Thanks so much!

Angela's Busy Mom's Organic Banana Breakfast Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 2 frozen Chiquita organic bananas (frozen = no need for ice cubes!)
  • 2 scoops coffee ice cream (Fat Free can be used)
  • 1 4oz. strawberry-flavored yogurt or vanilla yogurt
  • 1/4 cup pulp-free orange juice 1/4 tsp. cinnamon (optional)
  • 2Tbs. to 1/4 cup brewed coffee (optional)

Directions

Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth (If it’s a little chunky that’s fine). This makes about 16 ounces, so pour into it either one 16oz. glass or two 8oz. glasses/cups and enjoy! You can also use organic yogurt and juices too.
