Erin's Healthy Chocolate Banana Smoothie Recipe

Chocolate and bananas are one of our favorite fruit combos here at the EatAChiquita.com blog (banana pops anyone?). When we turned to our readers to get the best fruit smoothie recipes around with the Chiquita Banana Organic Smoothie Recipe Contest, Erin shared this tasty chocolate smoothie treat. Read on for quick and easy instructions on how to make a chocolate banana smoothie with a protein boost.

I think this contest is a great way to help people think of new ways to enjoy bananas and appreciate the flavor and healthy aspects of organic produce. I'm excited to try out some of the other smoothies too! It's amazing to see what people come up with. I developed my own recipe about a year ago and have been hooked ever since. I’m so glad the judges enjoyed it and I am happy knowing Chiquita fans can try it out for themselves now too!

Erin's Healthy Chocolate Banana Smoothie Recipe

Makes 1 Serving

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chilled unsweetened chocolate almond milk
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1 organic Chiquita banana (frozen is yummy but not necessary)
  • 1 tablespoon raw unsalted almond butter
  • A dash of cinnamon to taste

Directions

Blend and enjoy – that’s it! You can also add a little flax seed oil to the mix before you hit that blend button for your daily omega-3 boost.
